We enjoyed an unforgettable and unique adventure in Portugal in the company of great Soroptimists from Poland. The participants of this project spent creative, inspiring days on Portugal’s Sunny Coast, in picturesque Estoril, 25 kms west of Lisbon. We appreciated our interesting dinner conversations, exchanging experiences and inspirations; a full-day trip along the coast, which took us to the westernmost point of mainland Europe at Cabo da Roca; and a visit to the beautiful village of Azenhas do Mar and fairytale Sintra. The group also spent an afternoon in Lisbon – ‘the City of Light’ with a guided tour.

The main ‘therapeutic’ attraction was the workshop of Azulejo-tile painting, held in a traditional Portuguese home, under the guidance of the experienced Azulejo-painting teacher, and long-term resident, Ruth Scott. Using traditional colour and designs, our ladies painted beautiful Azulejos, which have become their personal, original souvenirs from this journey and a memorable decoration for their homes.

The Moonluza team was most happy to share with the participants a small but special part of ‘our Portugal’.
