🌙✨ Stories as Lanterns: A Year of Tales & Creativity

🌙✨ Stories as Lanterns: A Year of Tales & Creativity

As we approach Christmas and gently near the end of the year, I find myself looking back at the path we’ve walked together — a path illuminated by stories, expressive arts, and the many beautiful people who joined Moonluza’s events. It has been a year woven with depth, creativity, courage, and connection.

🌲 A Meaningful Milestone

In March, we gathered in Sintra to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Seminar on Fairytale and Storytelling Therapy — a full decade of shared tales, healing creativity, and heartfelt meetings. This anniversary felt like closing a beloved chapter while opening a new doorway. It reminded us of how much has been created, learned, and transformed through these gatherings.

🕯️ Stories Across Distance

Throughout the year, we continued meeting online — small storytelling circles where voices from many places came together. Even in the digital space, stories found warmth. They travelled across borders, screens, and time zones, reminding us that connection does not depend on physical proximity.
Stories simply need people willing to listen.

🍂 The Autumn Online Conference

And then came November, with its soft, inward-turning light. Our 3-day Autumn Online Conference brought together presenters and participants from around the world in a shared exploration of fairytales, expressive arts, and their therapeutic potential.
Despite the distance, something truly special happened: an atmosphere of openness, curiosity, presence, and kindness filled the circle. We listened, created, reflected, and supported each other — and once again discovered how deeply stories can hold and nourish us.

🌍 Stories Across Languages: The Portuguese Online Course & the Hybrid Journey

Another important thread woven into this year’s tapestry was our Portuguese-language online course and the hybrid programme, which brought together participants both from Portugal and abroad.

Working in Portuguese offered something profoundly special. The language itself carries a softness, a saudade-like depth, a poetic cadence that invites introspection and emotional resonance. Through this linguistic doorway, participants explored expressive arts, personal narratives, and therapeutic stories in ways subtly shaped by Portuguese culture — warmth, closeness, and a contemplative relationship with memory.

These courses reminded us that a story is never just a story. It is always rooted in language, and language carries culture. Every word holds history, worldview, emotion, and belonging.

Through Portuguese narratives, hybrid formats, shared reflections and creative processes, we witnessed once again how storytelling becomes a bridge — linking people, traditions, and inner landscapes across distance and difference.

❄️ Moving Into Winter

Now, as winter approaches and the days grow quieter, I feel that all these gatherings have prepared us for this season — a season of reflection, stillness, and inner light.
Stories are like lanterns in the dark. They warm us, guide us, and remind us of our shared humanity.

🌟 With Gratitude

To everyone who joined Moonluza’s events this year: thank you.
Your presence, creativity, and generosity shaped this journey.
Moonluza grows because of the people who gather around it, and this year’s circle was truly remarkable.

As we move toward the new year, I look forward to new meetings, new tales, and new creative paths we will walk together.

Wishing you a warm, gentle Christmas season
and a peaceful transition into the year to come.

With gratitude,
Moonluza
