ZOOMy Autumn Gathering

ZOOMy Autumn Gathering

3-5 December 2021

“By letting go, it all gets done.”

Lao Tzu

ZOOMy Autumn Retreat, a time to ourselves, a weekend filled with magic, workshops, much-needed nurturing to enter the deeper and darker time of the year… A time when words meet arts, dance, where stories fill the room, where weaving happens, where we all have space for reflections and contemplations.

This Retreat is designed for anyone who feels like recharging energies and reconnectig before entering the Winter time…

Retreat’s Hosts

Adriana Jurczyk Duarte – linguist, translator, founder of Moonluza. Adriana took her Master’s Degree in Philology at the University of Wrocław, Poland, but has been living, for the past 19 years in Portugal. The nostalgia and need to find herself in Portugal led her to write a fairy-tale based in legends from her home village and mountains. Creating her own fairy-tale became her therapy and helped shape her own place in Portugal, which is ‘Moonluza’.

Lisa Nackan – registered art therapist and psychotherapist from Canada. Lisa has always been driven by a burning to desire to help others and to advocate for meaningful change in the world. Her work provides the perfect medium for this – combining three of her greatest passions: the creative process, psychology and social activism.  Her professional affiliations include CATA (Canadian Art Therapy Association) and CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.)

with guest participations of

Daria Drabik – physiotherapist and current dance student from Poland. Daria took her opportunity to come to Portugal on Erasmus program to experience the adventure of life, and live in new country with new people and culture. She enjoys peaceful mornings with nature, hiking and the beauty of small moments in her life. Dance, meditation and yoga is a big part of her life that she would like to spread and share with more people.

Embrace Yourself – dance meets yoga and you…

with Daria

Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes can positively or negatively affect our biological functioning. In other words, our minds can affect how healthy our bodies are!

On the other hand, what we do with our physical body (what we eat, how much we exercise, even our posture) can impact our mental state (again positively or negatively). This results in a complex interrelationship between our minds and bodies.

The body, mind, and soul are connected in such a way that they form a cycle in which each one is influenced by the other two. And depending on whether there is a state of harmony or disharmony between these three components, a cycle of health or disease is formed.

This part of this beautiful project will be mainly focused on connecting with our body and soul. Through dancing, yoga and meditation, we will be trying to increase our connection and self worth. By paying attention to our breath, we will be learning how to return to, and remain in, the present moment—to anchor ourselves in the here and now on purpose, without judgement.

The mind body spirit connection is real and when you understand how it all works you’re able to more fully step into your own power.

Altered Books – the art of reconstructing old stories and the creation of new ones.

with Lisa

A creative hands-on experiential opportunity to use your imagination and transform the pages of a discarded, old book into something new.  Using a variety of expressive arts techniques, you will have the opportunity to begin writing and / or illustrating a new, entirely different story using the book as a container and template.

Participants will be taught various altered book techniques and guided through the process of beginning this reflective process for themselves.

Discussion will revolve around various opportunities and settings where altered books could be implemented.

Wisdom from the Celtic World and the power of WORD

with Adriana

An invitation to reconnect with the ancient wisdom and to try to apply it in our daily life. A morning spent on the Celtic path, honouring the gifts and insights that each season brings, looking at myths, hero’s journey and using some of the teachings for inspiration, for finding our alignment, for our everyday life.
